Dear Sweet Baby Jesus,
Please send me back home now. I have now been sufficiently reminded that fondness makes the heart grow fonder for good reasons. Also, I have relearned that birth control is the world’s greatest invention. In short, I am very tired. Also, I miss my boyfriend, His Smitteness. Also also, I fear that, with a week away, he may have forgotten why he was so smitted to begin with.
Your friend,
Allez oop

I’m betting on a more understated welcome. Teh Smitten is all about understatement. Not underwhelment, mind you. Anything but.

I’m very interested to hear about your holiday with the kiddos! This is the first I’ve heard any hint of desparation in your voice… :-)
When will I get to see you and TheSmitten again?

Carmencita – I was just tired. The niece and neph are cute, but loud and demanding. Mr. Smit is quieter, which gives him a serious advantage. (He is also cute.) We must go out soon!

Ricky Bobby: Dear tiny infant Jesus…
Carley Bobby: Hey, um… you know sweetie, Jesus did grow up. You don’t always have to call him baby. It’s a bit odd and off puttin’ to pray to a baby.
Ricky Bobby: Well look, I like the Christmas Jesus best, and I’m sayin grace. When you say grace, you can say it to grown up Jesus, or teenage Jesus, or bearded Jesus, or whoever you want.

Ricky Bobby: I wanna thank little baby Jesus, who’s sittin’ in his crib watchin the Baby Einstein videos, learnin’ ’bout shapes and colors.
Cal Naughton, Jr.: I like to think of Jesus as a mischievous badger.
